Side Plot Studio is run by Ruben Martinez, a software engineer at OkCupid, where he builds tools to help people find their happily-ever-afters. Originally hailing from South Texas, Ruben is now based in Brookline, MA, where he is an avid reader of romance, fantasy, horror, and basically anything he can get his hands on—217 books in 2025 alone (follow along on Goodreads)!

What started out as a passion for designing fun, bookish, and extremely niche stickers for friends quickly grew into something worth sharing with the rest of the world. Each sticker design is lovingly created using Sketch, before being printed on durable, weather-resistant vinyl. Side Plot Studio is a creative outlet for these trying times: a place where favorite characters, cozy tropes, and memeable moments get turned into art.
